The creative life

I have always valued creativity, in myself and in others. When I am not composing, or writing songs, I seek out collaboration with other artists. And some of my greatest satisfaction comes from helping others to shape their creative impulses. This is true whether I am working with seasoned musicians, with groups of young students, or with inmates in a maximum security prison. Music gives us opportunities to bring into being something that did not exist before we brought ourselves to our imagination. It’s important to seek out these opportunities whenever we can.
